Web usability guru
Jakob Nielsen
of the
Nielsen Norman Group
has awarded silverorange with the
Best Intranet of 2001 at the
2001 User Experience Conference
in Washington D.C.
During the
Web Usability Today
portion of the conference, Nielsen praised
the silverorange intranet
for its “clean design” and its “emphasis
on community and the communicative process”.
Jakob Nielsen, who has been referred to as “the guru
of Web page usability” by the
New York Times, is the author of the popular book
Designing Web Usability
which has been praised by tech news site
Slashdot
as “the most important book on web publishing yet to
appear”. Nielsen publishes a
monthly column
on web usability at his website,
UseIt.com, and will be releasing his latest book,
Homepage Usability: 50 Websites Deconstructed, later this month.
